We’ve all done it. Posted something regrettable on social media only to have a change of heart. But when Politicians do it, they will be held accountable once again.
That is thanks to the return of Politwoops. The site, which has been off-line for several months, archives the tweets of politicians. Developed by the Sunlight Foundation, a group founded on “Making government & politics more accountable & transparent”, the tool has been an internet favorite in previous election cycles. Here are their top deleted tweets of 2014.
After previously shutting down the service earlier in 2015, Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey said in a recent statement:
We have a responsibility to continue to empower organizations that bring more transparency to public dialogue, such as Politwoops.
Here’s looking forward to the 2016 Election which is sure to produce some serious social chatter and some unfortunate political bloopers.
