You may not think of Disney when you think revolutionary technology. Sure, they own Star Wars, and the “It’s a Small World” ride didn’t build itself, but the well known cartoon maker is expanding into some pretty heavy stuff.
Disney Research Zurich, in cooperation with ETH, an engineering, science & technology university, has developed a robot that can actually climb walls. No suction cups here. Just some pretty sweet propellers that give the vehicle enough thrust so stay firmly adhered to a vertical surface.
It’s called VertiGo, and it can go from driving on the ground, to walking up walls almost instantly.
Watch the video to see VertiGo in all of it’s SpiderMan-like glory. It’s just a prototype, so don’t go looking for this bad boy at Target just yet.
